About SNCOG

The Southern Nevada Council of Governments (SNCOG) was formed between the local governments of Southern Nevada in late 2025 as the successor to the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition (SNRPC), an organization that was terminated April 19, 2026. Unlike a regional planning coalition, as defined under NRS Chapter 278, SNCOG is formed under a cooperative agreement that is intended to identify and address regional issues, coordinate between Clark County and the cities of Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, and North Las Vegas, and provide a new formal organization for its members to effectively communicate and cooperate with each other.

During 2026, the SNCOG Board has formally organized. At its March and May quarterly Board meetings, the Board conducted a workshop to identify matters of regional significance for jurisdictional staff members to study, ultimately selecting group homes. A report with recommendations for the Board has been developed and will be delivered for consideration for action by individual member jurisdictions, other Southern Nevada and state entities, and other stakeholders within the region.
